What is UnknownPixel.com?

Unknown Pixel is a new kind of art gallery. One where you can't actually see the work of art in question, at least not at first. The hidden image is revealed over time through pixel purchases by the community at large.

How does this work?

At UnknownPixel you can buy pixels for $1. Buying a pixel unlocks and reveals the pixel in the hidden UnknownPixel Image for the world to see. Your name is tied to the pixels you unlock on our Leaderboard. They're your pixels.

Also every pixel purchased gets you a chance to win the artwork. Once the complete image is revealed, the original will be raffled off among everyone who bought a pixel. The more pixels you buy the greater your chances of winning.

What's in the hidden image?

It's a secret. It's an original work of art. Beyond that you'll have to help us unlock pixels to know more.

How many pixels should I buy?

As many as you want. Every pixel purchased gets us closer to the big artwork revelation.

Are my payments secure?

Of course. We currently accept all our payments through PayPal so you can breathe easy. Those guys know what they're doing and all transactions are very secure. All major credit cards are accepted.

Can I buy a pixel anonymously?

Certainly. You don't have to list your name if you would prefer to remain anonymous to the world. Name and comment fields are optional and as long as we have your email address, we can notify you if you win the raffle.
